Iran Is Ranked 35th in the World Tourism Economies by WTTC
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council's recent report on estimation of the countries' revenues in tourism sector, Iran is ranked 35th in the world tourism economies with a contribution of $30.747 billion of gross domestic product in 2017.
WTTC's report suggest that although Iran has been ranked among top countries in terms of the size of the economy, the percentage of its economic growth in tourism sector does not match accordingly to the country's potentials in this industry.
In the last decade especially during the last seven years, many countries have counted on tourism as the means of realization of sustainable development. Iran's regional rivals have developed their tourism economies too.
